APRIL 7TH  |  1pm - 3pm

Treat yourself at Ponysaurus Brewing Co.’s First Annual Cookie Bake-Off! Show off your baking skills, drink delicious Ponysaurus beer and compete for the prizes of, you guessed it, more beer! Oh, and trophies, cause who doesn't like trophies? All amateur bakers welcome.

Our esteemed panel of judges will determine the grand prize winner as well as 2nd & 3rd place but we need your help too! Taste all of the cookies and determine which is your favorite. This event benefits the Durham Crisis Response Center during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Make a suggested cash donation of $10 to taste & vote!

ENTRY RULES

  • All styles/types of cookies are welcome, but will be judged in the same category

  • Cookies will be prepared off-site and then brought to Ponysaurus Brewing Co. and served to our panel of judges

  • Contestants should prepare at least 3 dozen cookies for the panel of judges & Ponysaurus guests.

  • All contestants must provide a full list of ingredients at checkin

  • Ponysaurus Brewing Co. will provide tables and tongs to all entrants

  • Contestants are encouraged to bring their own fancy/cute/unique cookie serving set-up! ex: Golden Girl plate to serve your cookies, knock knock joke napkins, cookie themed decor, etc.

  • Cookies should be homemade and not store bought

  • It goes without saying, poisoning the judges will result in disqualification

 

PLAY-BY-PLAY 

1PM: Arrival and set-up
1:30PM: Official tasting begins
2PM: Public tasting begins
2:45PM: Winners are announced!
3PM: Participants must be present to break down / clean up at 3PM.

 

WINNER, WINNER!

One GRAND PRIZE WINNER will be selected by our esteemed panel of judges. They will receive a gift certificate for $50 AND a trophy! Cause what's the point of winning if you can't take a lap around the beer garden holding a trophy over your head?

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD: We are asking the people to judge! Join the cookie judging by making a cash donation to the Durham Crisis Response Center (suggested $10). Each person will be able to sample all of the participant’s cookies and vote for their favorite.

There will also be awards granted to 2nd place, 3rd place, Best Name, & Best Presentation. So we expect everyone to bring their A game!

A little about the Durham Crisis Response Center:
The Durham Crisis Response Center works with the community to end domestic and sexual violence through advocacy, education, support and prevention.

We will also be holding a clothing drive for sexual assault survivors at the Cookie Bake-Off. Sexual Assault survivors that go to the hospital after their experience, often do not have any clothing with them other than what they were wearing when they were assaulted. Below are the items that are needed:

Men's underwear (all sizes)
Men's t-shirts (all sizes)
Bras (various sizes)
Pants/leggins (various sizes)
Lightweight shirts XL-3XL
Sweatshirts M &L
Socks (women & men)
Tank Tops (all sizes)

APRIL IS SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH

Sexual Assault Awareness Month is a campaign to raise public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it. The campaign theme, I Ask, champions the message that asking for consent is a healthy, normal, and necessary part of everyday interactions.
