Fresh Hop IPA

It’s hop harvest season! Our dear friends at CLS Farms & Yakima Quality Hops are hard at work on the west coast harvesting this year’s hop crop & you get to sit back, relax, & enjoy this Fresh Hop IPA. Our light-colored IPA is brewed with fresh whole cone hops resulting in a lightly bitter ale with tasting notes of tropical fruit, melon, & fresh-cut grass.

This year our Fresh Hop IPA highlights 60 pounds of aromatic Citra hops & 120 pounds of dry-hopped Elani hops (previously known as the experimental hop YQH-1320) picked right off the hop bushel in Yakima Valley, WA.

Our fresh hop beer is brewed with undried cones, rushed straight from the WA hop fields, packed tightly, & shipped lickety-split directly to our Durham, NC doorstep. Then, of course, immediately into to our tanks. A hyper-seasonal beer, this hoppy liquid is meant to be sipped & savored ASAP – the fresher, the better.

Our beer team visited the hop farms in Yakima Valley to experience the harvest first hand & determine the very best hops for our future beers. Peek below for pics of our adventures galavanting through hop fields, seeing the behind-the-scenes farm to brew-ready hop process, & experiencing the origins of this essential piece of the beer alchemy equation.
