REGISTER TO VOTE IN NORTH CAROLINA

You may register through Same-Day Registration during the one-stop early voting periods.

If you live outside of North Carolina, check vote.org for registration and vote by mail information.

EARLY VOTING INFORMATION:

One-stop early voting:

During one-stop early voting periods, voters may cast their ballot at any early voting site in their county, and register to vote right before voting – this is different than Election Day, where registered voters must vote at their assigned polling place. See the NC State Board of Elections information here.

  3. Submit your completed form to your County Board of Elections. There are four ways to submit your form -- (1) take a clear photo and email it; (2) mail it, (3) fax it, or (4) drop it off to your local County Board of Elections.

Learn more about how to Vote By Mail from You Can Vote, thanks to their 6 Easy Vote By Mail Steps guide.

  • Voters can submit a voter registration form with their absentee ballot request form, but must request an absentee ballot before November 1.

  • If you request and receive a ballot but then decide to vote in-person, that’s fine! Just choose one way to vote.

For more information about voting by mail, look to Democracy NC and the NC State board of Elections Voting by Mail FAQ page.
